Sketchbook Notes - Write the Tips for Painting (bolded words)
Tips for Painting
Always add a small amount of the darker color to the lighter color. (It doesn't take much of the darker color to change the lighter color. If you add the light color to the dark, it will take about five times the amount of paint to change the darker color.)
Gradually add color until you reach the desired hue.
Use the appropriate brush size. A small area should be painted with a small brush and vise versa.
Rinse brush out with water and wipe it off with a paper towel before changing colors to prevent contaminating the next color.
Mix enough color to fill the entire area. If you need more of the same mixed color, it is almost impossible to mix the exact color a second time.
